Our Mission, Vision, and Values

  • Sacramento Kindness Campaign fills gaps in services and resources related to food, safety, and shelter for our most vulnerable community members, including families in transition, refugees, unhoused neighbors, and those escaping domestic abuse.

  • We envision a safe, nourished and thriving greater Sacramento working together to foster improved quality of life and a stronger, well connected community.

  • Our core values are the cornerstone of who we are, what we stand for and what we do.

Accountability — We operate with the highest degree of administrative and fiscal responsibility.

Compassion – We are deeply aware of the suffering our vulnerable neighbors experience and we wish to alleviate that through our outreach programs.

Collaboration — We partner with local agencies to scaffold vulnerable community members with multiple layers of support and remove obstacles so individuals and families can thrive independently. We work better together.

Innovation — We design and utilize a wide range of problem-solving tools to meet immediate needs. We embrace ambitious goals while taking into account real-world influences.

Integrity — We operate our programs with the utmost honesty.

Optimism — We seek the best possible results and dwell on the most hopeful outcomes through our work in greater Sacramento.

Pride — We perpetuate dignity and well-being for those we serve.

Respect — We welcome diverse perspectives, talents and contributions.

Responsibility – We have the responsibility to provide programs based on best practices to fill gaps in services and resources for individuals affected by trauma or by personal or natural disasters.

Results — We create solutions that make a lasting difference in greater Sacramento.

Sustainability — Our work meets present needs and strives for the greatest potential to maintain ideals for the future.

  • The Sacramento Kindness Campaign celebrates the rich diversity within our community, thoughtfully considers inclusion when developing programs and policies, and works to fill gaps in services related to food, safety and shelter in an effort to provide equitable solutions for each family we serve.

    CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY

    - SKC takes pride in being an organization with diverse members, including leaders formerly affected by poverty and homelessness, members of the LGBTQ community, and persons with disabilities.

    - We actively engage with the families we serve who come from various racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We listen to their feedback and implement ideas and strategies to improve the ways we are able to serve them.

    INCLUSIVE PROGRAMS & POLICIES

    - The programs at SKC are developed to provide access to the human right to food, safety and shelter.

    - SKC welcomes and actively seeks volunteers, leaders, and community partners who represent the community we serve and can provide diverse perspectives.

    - Our organization is committed to developing anti-racism policies and spreading awareness of unconscious bias when serving families who may appear different from our own.

    EQUITABLE SOLUTIONS

    - SKC recognizes the systemic injustices that create barriers to success for our most vulnerable community members, especially families with children. Each family has a unique set of circumstances. We specialize in helping families remove those barriers to forge a path towards having sustainable food, safety and shelter.
